“Pathogen spillover among communities of bees” – a talk by Robert Paxton
22nd November 2023 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm GMT
Event Navigation
Honey bees host a number of viruses, chief among which is deformed wing virus (DWV). The virus is nowadays found in a variety of other insect species, particularly other bee species, which presumably acquire DWV through feeding on contaminate flowers. Robert will use his and others’ research to examine how widespread pathogen spillover is among bee species, and what its consequences might be.
